The Eyes of the Dragon Pages 125-155 August 5
The court's decision is made in this section, and all evidence given from Dennis has been shown. The village is hurt because they saw Peter as the "white light" and now betrayal is from Peter to his community. As I have already completed the Handmaid's Tales, I can not help but to see a similarity on how their society views them as people. Offred who was once strong and independent, was later viewed as weak and unimportant when her role changed from human to Handmaid. Peter, who was once seen as kind, yet strong, is now hated and resented. Both became prisoners in a world they thought was once their's both on accounts they could not change, nor was their fault. Offred actually hoped for a change which she called reconstruction, and ironically the change the people of Delain wanted a change as well which on page 125 they called "construction". Both societies at one point were fine just the way they were and now both are at a loss.
