The Eyes of the Dragon pages 62-93 august 3
So in this part of the book I am discovering even more of Flaggs hidden plans. In the beginning part of this section we are told that Flagg has been coming to Delain for many and many of years, but as a different person with a different name each time. Flagg has now become a symbol of a plague. Everytime he comes to this village, his evil slowly spreads from one person to the next, and just like the Black Plague he goes through his targets and does not stop until all is demolished. He is feared by many but still is not feares by Peter. We see how the people see Peter as hope and according to page 66 he is the "coming of the White". As you know the white stands for purity but also stands for rebirth. Peter is the villages chance at a new beginning before " the plague" hits. We know that Flagg does not want this reconstruction and King highlights this point by his constant repetition of the phrase "He must be put out of the way, the boy must be put out of the way". More foreshawdoing is used because even though it has not been stated, we know that Flaggs plot to kill the king with Dragon sand in the wine Peter brings him every night will eventually lead to a belief of Peter killing the King and Flagg in control with Thomas in charge.
