Have you ever done something wrong, and try yourself to fix it and mend it but in the end you are only making matters worse, and if you would have just left it alone it would have been forgotten? Guilt seems to be an emotion that we feel we must fix. Sadly we are greatly mistaken and by fixing we are only "reopening the wound". We as humans make mistakes and we must allow them to heal. It is not the mistake that makes us but simply what we learn from the mistakes. Dennis has constantly experienced this guilt, ever since he went against his true master, Peter, and now he feels compelled to fix everything by helping Thomas. Thomas as we know is not exactly a perfect man and Dennis helping Thomas, seems to only help Flagg, which is definitely not what Dennis wants to do. This need for satisfaction seems to be Dennis' flaw, and even though unintentional, he is the wound picker.
